The Reality in Romania
950,000 people with disabilities, as estimated by the National Authority for Persons with Disabilities, 2022.
8,000 out of 100,000 special needs children are integrated in mainstream Romanian schools
Just 1,400 support teachers across the country.
Children with disabilities face barriers every day:
- Discrimination and negative attitudes.
- Lack of policies and legislation.
- Costly healthcare restricting mobility.
- Limited access to regular education.
With scarce government funding, these communities struggle. Yet, the hope for a better future remains.
They need more than sympathy; they need tangible support.
